    18 Nov 2009 @ 16:18

You may have heard NZQA is dropping it’s credits for Massage and Aromatherapy courses in New Zealand. There is a whole raft of alternative therapy course having their NZQA credit dropped. From the information I have been able to obtain from NZQA’s website, the reason these credits are being dropped is due to them no longer being required by industry. So, what does that mean. Basically any institute currently offering NZQA accredited course for either Massage or Aromatherapy will need to remove those statements. Course credits are set to expire as of December 2010.

Whether you have had your massage clinic up and running for a while, or are just setting your clinic up. Please remember to keep in mind, your Local Council may have by-laws which you must abide by. For example. To open a massage clinic in Auckland you will require an Environmental Health Licence (Health Protection Licence). For information on how to obtain a health licence, you will need to speak with an Environmental Health Officer directly, available by phone via the Call Centre on (09) 379 2020 between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
