Godaddy are under fire from professional Massage Therapists for their recent Superbowl advert which does not depict a Professional service from a Massage Therapist.
The ad in which aired during the Superbowl, depicted a very unprofessional therapist.
During the massage, the "massage therapist" proceeded to rip off her own clothes and dance around, all before falling in the pool.
As quoted on a petition over at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/massageprofessionals/
This commercial does not represent massage professionals in this country who abide by a code of ethics and strive to provide the public with the many benefits of therapeutic massage.
Having watched the Advert over at http://videos.godaddy.com/super-bowl-commercials.aspx I personally don’t think this represents any Massage Professional in any country who abide by a code of ethics.
Personally the ad, however annoys me that it portrays Massage Therapists to be idiots with no brain at all. Although as a professional massage therapists, it does make me laugh that this girl managed to pull it off (look like an idiot) with seamless effort and to be a complete natural at behaving that way.
I think it says more for the advertising agency and company who commissioned the advert than the Massage Profession. However, having said that. It is a shame when we get portrayed in this way.
