NZQA dropping course credits

You may have heard NZQA is dropping it’s credits for Massage and Aromatherapy courses in New Zealand.

There is a whole raft of alternative therapy course having their NZQA credit dropped. From the information I have been able to obtain from NZQA’s website, the reason these credits are being dropped is due to them no longer being required by industry.

So, what does that mean. Basically any institute currently offering NZQA accredited course for either Massage or Aromatherapy will need to remove those statements.

Well, legally, there is nothing you can do. New Zealand does not have any form of regulation for the Massage or Aromatherapy industries.

It is up to the clients of the person involved to make enquiries with such people as to their qualifications and make complaints to appropriate authorities if any should arise.

Training as a Massage or Aroma therapist can be both challenging and exciting at the same time.

It’s great to see many people taking up the opportunity to qualify as either a Massage Therapist or Aromatherapy Practitioner and take up this wonderful career path.
